F A Q s
Does reflexology hurt/tickle?
Reflexology uses medium rhythmic pressure on the feet to enable relaxation and to make sure all points are worked effectively. Some points may be more tender than others and this indicates areas that need more attention, but your comfort is my priority so if anything is too uncomfortable just let me know! As someone with ticklish feet I can confirm that reflexology does not tickle!
Are the treatment rooms wheelchair accessible?
If you are a wheelchair user please get in touch with me for more information about the accessibility of the treatment rooms: nicole_langdon@outlook.com.
What if I fall asleep?
Falling asleep is a big compliment to your therapist, and is very much welcomed, snores and all! While some people fall asleep, others drift into a meditative state and some just sit back and enjoy the peaceful music.
Can reflexology or reiki cure my condition?
Reflexology or reiki don't claim to cure or diagnose conditions. They are very individual treatments and aim to help the body to rebalance naturally. Some people find they work for them, some people don't. The best way to find out is to try it!
Do I need to shave my legs/ paint my toenails?
Nope!
Can I have reflexology or reiki if I'm pregnant?
Absolutely. Reflexology and reiki are wonderful and safe treatments to have when you are pregnant. I take pregnant clients from the very early stages for reiki and 13 weeks onwards for reflexology (purely my insurance requirements).
How many sessions should I have?
The number of sessions you have is unique to each individual and will depend on what you would like to get out of the treatments and what is feasible for you. If there is a particular area of your health you'd like me to work on, I recommend a treatment once a week for 5 or 6 weeks to start with as by then you can usually feel if reflexology or reiki is making a positive difference to you. Please see my 'Treatments' page to find out more.
I have athlete's foot/veruccae, can I still have a reflexology treatment?
I'm not able to touch any area of the foot with athlete's foot or verrucae as they are contagious. Both can be easily treated using an over the counter remedy from your local pharmacy. Once the infection has cleared please get in touch and I'd love to see you for a treatment.
Can children have a reflexology or reiki treatment?
Reflexology and reiki can be brilliant therapies for children of all ages. I am a qualified baby and child reflexology practitioner and witnessing the positive effects reflexology can have on their wellbeing brings me so much joy. Please see my 'Treatments' page for more information on baby and child reflexology.
